At the beginning of 2026, the MOSFET industry witnessed its first concentrated price increase wave after a two-year downward cycle. From international giants to domestic leaders, many enterprises issued price adjustment notices, with the increase generally starting from 10%, and the increase for some high-end products exceeded 20%. The price adjustment window was concentrated in March and April, marking that the industry officially entered a new stage of structural prosperity. Domestic manufacturers such as Silan Microelectronics, Hongwei Technology, Xinjieneng, Jiejie Microelectronics and China Resources Microelectronics have successively announced price hikes, and international manufacturers such as Infineon and Vishay have also followed suit by adjusting their prices.
This price increase is driven by both supply and demand sides: On the supply side, the prices of packaging raw materials such as copper, silver and tin have risen sharply, coupled with the collective increase in 8-inch wafer foundry prices. The cost pressure on the entire industrial chain can no longer be absorbed internally, and at the same time, the capacity of high-end MOSFETs remains tight. On the demand side, the demand for the three high-growth sectors of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic energy storage, and AI servers has exploded, becoming the core driving force for price hikes. At present, the industry has already experienced a tight supply situation. The delivery time of MOSFETs from some major IDM manufacturers has been extended to 30 weeks. The trend of tight capacity is expected to further intensify in the second half of the year.
Leading enterprises are accelerating technological innovation and focusing on core growth tracks
Global semiconductor manufacturers are launching new products to lay out high-growth fields. Magnachip plans to showcase its medium-voltage MOSFET product matrix for AI servers and data centers at the 2026 PCIM exhibition in Germany, seizing the market increment brought by the construction of AI computing power. Wolfspeed has released the world's first commercial 10kV silicon carbide power MOSFET, providing new solutions for power grid upgrades, industrial electrification, and AI data center infrastructure.
According to market data, automobiles have now surpassed consumer electronics to become the largest application field for MOSFETs. By 2024, automobiles will account for 33% of global MOSFET applications, and the compound annual growth rate of the global automotive MOSFET market size will reach 9%, with the Chinese market accounting for more than 30%. As a mainstream product in the medium and high voltage field, the global market size of super junction MOSFETs reached 25.63 billion yuan in 2025 and is expected to rise to 61.28 billion yuan in 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 14%. At present, domestic manufacturers are accelerating the substitution process. By 2025, the share of domestic super junction MOSFETs has reached 12%, an increase of 3 percentage points compared with the previous year. It is expected that the global share will exceed 20% by 2030.
